Leading and facilitating professional learning and development for staff across East Ayrshire has been a key role of EAST. A comprehensive Continual Life Long Professional Learning (CLPL) training Calendar across the spectrum of ASN is shared with all colleagues in Education at the start of each session. The CLPL Calendar is quality assured and updated each session.
This session’s EAST CLPL Calendar has introduced more dynamic and diverse approaches to delivering training includes:
- Bespoke sessions
- PLCs and TLCs (both using cookbook and novel approaches)
- Pre-recorded presentations followed by professional dialogue
- Bitesize presentations for staff to access at time/place convenient to them
Over the last couple of years, EAST has set up and populated 5 EAST tiles, as well as adding to the GIRFEC tile. The EAST tiles are :
- Resources/Support Packs Tile
- Assessment Tile
- Inclusive Practice (DFS) Tile
- CLPL/Professional learning tile
- Classroom assistant tile for primary and secondary CAs
The materials uploaded have help staff across the authority to provide appropriate supports for learners, further embed inclusion and upskill in knowledge/skills and confidence in the field of ASNs.
