7/11/22 – EAST’s EAL Team have shared their new sway looking at technology to support EAL learners with EAST staff, the Ukrainian Refugee Support for Schools Team, the SWEIC and the SEALCC Conference.

3/11/22 – Family and children Massage in Schools parent/carer session took place in Dunlop Primary. Everyone enjoyed the experience and got to experience the safe, nurturing touch aspect of the programme as well as the importance of consent. Improving Health and wellbeing as well as family bonding!

24/10/22 – EAST completed the suite of Beyond Behaviour modules with the enhancement of practical activities. Feeback was positive, “A very relevant content in these modules, the reflection activities helped me relate my practice to the information shared. Enjoyed engaging in professional dialogue with colleagues.”

15/10/22 – EAST chaired the Massage in Schools Scottish AGM and led the Massage in Schools Programme refresh training. Instructors from across Scotland enjoyed the relaunch and connection from training. EAC being held as the MISP capital of Scotland.

12/10/22 – EAST delivered a very successful CPI training to colleagues across the authority. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive: “I feel confident in responding proportionately to challenging situations. Rarely do courses cater for complex ASN and consider trauma in their approach. This programme did both.”

1/10/22 – EAST supported the Dyslexia Scotland 2022 Education Conference: Dyslexia- The Learning Journey as part of the panel of experts facilitating the live Q&A session as well as supporting two workshops:

  • Dyscalculia and Curriculum for Excellence
  • Addressing Dyslexia Toolkit Identification Pathway in Practice

22/09/2022 – EAST joined Education Scotland at the Scottish Learning Festival to discuss the newly published Scottish Definition of Dyscalculia, busting some myths and outlining some support available to practitioners and techniques for creating an inclusive teaching and learning environment for Numeracy & Mathematics. Following on from this, EAST is involved in the national training programme.
