EAST staff make use of Maths Recovery Interview assessments to help assess learners’ numerical knowledge and strategies used to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication and division tasks.  The assessments do not involve pencil and paper test. Instead it is an interview based approach which involved presenting numerical tasks and engaging with the learner in order to determine the extent of their knowledge and the sophistication of their numerical strategies.
