East Ayrshire Support Team work closely with school staff to provide additional support with numeracy over and above differentiation by the class teacher.

This can involve carrying out assessments to identify areas for development and delivering tailored interventions to individuals or groups of learners.

 In addition, EAST support whole class numeracy screening at P3. The P3 Numeracy Screening Assessment is a tool used in September of P3 to help class teachers gauge where learners are and identify any gaps in learning for individuals, groups, whole class and school level. Following this, EAST may carryout additional diagnostic assessments with individuals to identify specific areas for development and may deliver a tailored intervention if appropriate.
