Pupil Assessment Profile (PAP)

Pupil Assessment Profiles provide a holistic, structured form of assessment in line with the East Ayrshire Assessment Process.

EAST updated the PAP for primary and secondary and they align more closely. Incorporating feedback from EAST colleagues the following key drivers were identified:

  • align with Standard Circular 102 and for the eight stages of the EA assessment cycle to be clear
  • a clear framework that was user friendly and easy to navigate
  • pupil voice clearly visible throughout the process
  • a greater emphasis on health and wellbeing
  • opportunities for professional dialogue clearly identified with collaborative working including parents and carers to be embedded throughout the whole process

These key drivers ensure the assessment process is holistic using a least intrusive approach and set within a robust structure leading to improved outcomes for our children and young people.

Primary and secondary Pupil Assessment Profiles contain contextual assessments used to identify strengths and next steps for development in a range of areas including literacy, numeracy, motor skills, health and well-being, attention/concentration.

A range of materials has been developed by EAST staff to make these updated PAP tools informative, accessible and easy to navigate.
