PEF Spending

The recent announcement by Joe McLaughlin at the HTs meeting highlighted how important it is to keep onto of our PEF spend. We are working hard with your AFOs to ensure that your PEF spending plans are balanced and that spending is remaining on track. Your support with this is very much appreciated.

Can we remind you that all purchasing orders should be placed before the  Christmas holidays to allow for processing prior to the end of the financial year 2023. Staffing can be committed till the end of the Academic Year 2023 (holiday payments will continue to August 2023).

PEF Blog

This PEF Blog has been updated and we have added a sharing practice section which includes super attendance work from the HLW in James Hamilton Primary and Attendance / Inclusion Base work carried out at St Joseph’s Academy. Thank you to Steven Swan and Andy Boyle for sharing their work and including data which shows significant impact of their PEF spend.

We are really keen to add to this section so that we can showcase all your good work and allow colleagues to learn from your experiences and successes. Please email ideas / materials to catrina.oneil@eastayrshire.org.uk or phone 07384211629 to discuss.

PEF Impact Visit Pilot Strategy
At the PEF HTs session in April 2023 we discussed rolling out authority PEF Impact Visit Programme and looked at a possible  format and paperwork. The paperwork is available on this blog (3rd last item on the page).
We have already carried out some visits as part of the Learning Visit Programme but we are now launching a PEF Impact Visit Pilot Strategy to gathering intel on PEF spend and impact across the authority.  The visit involves Catrina O’Neil (Equity and HWB Education Officer) visiting schools to support with monitoring and tracking impact, as well as identifying areas of practice that we could share with colleagues. The Equity Officer will phone HTs prior to make the arrangements and ensure that the visit is not onerous.

Update April 2023

This site contains the papers which where discussed with Head Teachers at our PEF refresh session on the 21st April 2023 (9.15am – 12.30pm at Loudoun Academy).

It is hope that the site will be developed into a PEF Support Blog were we can share practice and post the latest PEF updates.
