Week beginning 17th April

We’ve had a busy first week back after our Easter holidays.

Our morning challenge this week has been to identify different coins we can use to make a specific amount.  We started off with basic amounts under £1 but throughout the week, we introduced amounts under £5 to allow us to use bigger coins and to look at how we use the pounds sign along with a decimal point to separate the pounds from the pence.

Our PATHS theme of the month for April is Gratitude.  As a class, we spoke about what this means and then wrote poems about things linked to our 5 senses that we were grateful for.
Saturday 22nd April was World Earth Day.  We discussed the need to look after our planet and what we can do to look after it.  We then made sun catchers which look amazing on the windows of the classroom.
