Scottish Studies and Scots Language is run by Ms Davidson and has been incredibly successful with Senior Phase learners gaining passes at Level 4, 5 and 6 (which gives 34 UCAS points overall).

In its current state the Scottish Studies Award and the Scots Language Award can be gained at Level 4, 5 or 6 depending on how hard a student is prepared to work. The course gives an overview of Scottish History, looks in depth at Scots Language and discusses Scottish Media. The course is designed to develop independent learning as students will also undertake a personal study into an aspect of Scotland – history, culture, sport, etc.

The Scots Language Award teaches learners about the history of the Scots Language and looks at how it is used today.
