Media

dscf0162

Media is the study of all different types of media. This course can focus on newspapers, adverts, film or even social media. It teaches leaners to think about how these different text types are made, how to analyse them and how to evaluate and even create them!

It is currently offered at National 4 & National 5. The National 4 course is composed of three parts: a unit looking at Analysis and Evaluation of texts, the Creation & Production of a text and finally an Added Value unit where learners research, create and evaluate aspects of a text.

At National 5 the Analysis & Evaluation unit and the Creation & Production unit must be passed before sitting the exam. A folio of texts must also be produced. The exam is an hour and a half long and test pupils on different aspects of Media.

Respectful. Resilient. Ready.
