French

Being able to communicate in a foreign language is an invaluable skill in today’s workplace. A knowledge of one or more foreign languages can be useful in a wide range of careers. For some jobs, such as translating, interpreting and language teaching, language skills are one of the main requirements. For other jobs, a combination of languages and other qualifications, knowledge or skills may be needed. For example, people with qualifications in a language plus IT, law, finance or sales skills are much sought-after in the workplace. Being able to use a foreign language increases your job prospects both nationally and internationally. In class, language skills of reading, listening , talking and writing will be developed through use of I.T; various media such as pod casts and websites in the foreign language and films. Students will research and produce presentations on topics of choice.

Classes will be multi-level and students will work at their own level within the class – at National 4, National 5 or Higher.
