Playdough

One of our favourite activities in the nursery is playdough.  It creates so many learning experiences and is super simple to make at home.

You could use your playdough to create a Stickman family.  What else could you make?

Recipe:

2x cups of plain flour

1x cup salt

2x cups of hot water (add gradually, you might not need all this)

2x tbsp vegetable oil

food colouring/smells such as food essence or herbs

Method:

  1. Mix the flour and salt together,
  2. Add oil and any colouring or scents you wish (If you don’t haver food colouring, add a small drop of paint)
  3. Slowly add the water and mix together
  4. Once a dough starts to form, knead until smooth
  5. Store in a covered container

Learning Life Skills

In today’s story, Johnny learned that having a messy room was not good and that he should listen to mum when she asks him to help tidy up.  How many chores can you help with at home over the weekend?
