Tree Rubbings

Today when out for your daily walk why not take some paper and crayons, pencils or chalk and find trees, walls, pavements etc to take rubbing of.

Place the paper onto the object you find interesting and use the side of a crayon, pencil or chalk to rub over the surface to find out what the texture looks like.

Find different types and sizes of trees and compare the patterns that the bark makes.

House Rubbings

Why not take a rubbing of the bricks on your house, the pavement in your garden, your decking etc. Look at the different textures. How are these different from the tree?
