Primary 1 had lots of fun celebrating Children in need. From their tigathon with Ross, to making Pudsey hats and guessing Pudsey’s birthday they thoroughly enjoyed their day 🙂
P5 #TeamPudsey
Primary 5 have had an excellent morning taking part in fun games with Ross, our Active Schools Coordinator, as part of our ‘Active Day’ raising awareness and funds for BBC Children in Need.
Lest we forget
Primary 1 have been busy this week celebrating ‘Remembrance day’. Here are some pictures of what they’ve been up to in class 🙂
They have also been working so hard with their literacy and numeracy, so hard there are no photos!! They have been using the 10 frames during their number talks to begin to build up their knowledge of number bonds and have been word building and ‘holding a sentence’ in literacy. Super work guys!
‘5 to Thrive’ Theme 2 in P6/7
Today our focus is on ‘take notice’. The aim is take notice feelings, which linked into our PATHS discussion on comfortable and uncomfortable feelings this afternoon. We also took time to talk about what we are grateful for.
‘5 to Thrive’ Day 1 in P6/7
The countdown is on to Children in Need 2020! We are learning about ‘5 to Thrive’ this week with Jo Wicks and Pudsey. The focus today is on the importance of connecting with others. We learned the impact that kindness, giving time and having fun has. What will we discuss on Day 2? Come back tomorrow to find out!
Lest We Forget
Thank you to James Paterson Butchers and Stewart’s Fruit and Veg for displaying some of our school Remembrance art work. We love showing our work to the community and as we cannot have any visitors in school at the moment this is a great way of sharing our learning. We will be joining in the silence as we remember on Wednesday 11th November at 11am. Lest We Forget.
Whizz! Fizz! Bang!
P5 created amazing poems today using fireworks as the theme.
Whoosh! Pop! The poems contained onomatopoeia. Ask us all about it?
We are looking forward to sharing our poetry with P6/7 next week as we feedback on each other’s work. We might even choose some of our favourites to share on the blog!
Rock & Roll at Dalmellington!
We are very excited to welcome Rock & Role Models back to our school! We are delighted to be learning lots of music and literacy skills whilst working together to write our own music and lyrics! 🎸🎼🎹🥁
Junior Youth Conference 2020
This morning, P6/7 have enjoyed learning about mental health with colleagues across East Ayrshire as part this years virtual Junior Youth Conference. We have written slogans and created models to support mental health.
Remember remember the 5th of November!
Primary 1 have certainly been in the spirit of Bonfire night this week! They became scientists and created their own ‘fireworks in a jar’ and made some beautiful firework pictures 😀
