And just like that our first full week is in the past. Primary 2/3 had a busy and hard working week. We worked on the sounds: ay, ee, igh, ow and oo. In numeracy we were learning all about one more and one less. This week’s focus for topic was based on a story sack called Ben and the Three Bears. The pupils engaged in a range of activities from exploring bears, designing their own bears (with alliterate names too), experimenting with different resources and working as part of a team to construct dens. Our health and wellbeing explored the concept of sharing. We also created some beautiful artwork for the Flower Show. Here’s to another fantastic week!
Primary 5/6 Homework
Good morning, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The homework for the week this week is spelling and maths. I have attached a copy of the spelling words for each group – these should be practised each day for our spelling test on Friday. I have also challenged children to identify their sound of the week this week in their environment – can they spot any words in the supermarket with the ‘oe’ sound, on street signs etc. For maths we are focusing on place value in school, their worksheet to complete at home is linked to their current learning. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Have a good day Miss McGrane.

P3/4 Homework-Week beginning 30th August
P1 Class Charter
Today P1 created their Class Charter. They decided on the ‘rights’ that they would like to demonstrate in class this term. More information on Children’s Rights can be found at https://www.unicef.org.uk/what-we-do/un-convention-child-rights/
The p2/3 journey begins
So lovley to see everyone back and raring to go. They all look so smart in their uniforms.
Today we recapped our sound ay and practised our fred spell. In our maths we have been looking at 1 more and 1 less using larger numbers. Place value will be a big focus over the next few weeks as we start to look at pattern in number and explore tens and units.
We contniue to have a large Paths focus which this week is Caring andd sharing. It would be lovely if the children could bring a picture to share in class .. They could talk about their picture. I know some children are keen to share pictures about their holidays.
So good to be back in class with the children and Miss Auchnie.
P1 Monday 23rd August 2021
Today P1 looked at the sound ‘m’. Please ask them all about Maisy’s Mountain. They could try to draw Maisy’s Mountain at home on paper with a pencil, in the sink using washing up liquid and their finger or even outside using chalk. Have a look for the letter ‘m’ in the environment too; in street signs, shop signs etc. There is a very famous golden arch, I wonder if they can guess what that logo stands for…
Later in the week we will also be looking at the sound ‘a’.
