Anti bullying week
We have been discussing bullying this week in Dalmellington PS. We learned that bullying is behaviour but that it also affects how other people feel about themselves. It has an impact on other people. We discussed the difference between rights and wants. We learned that rights are important to keep us healthy and safe. We would maybe like the wants to be rights so this discussion was very interesting!!!
We also learned that our rights are not more important than anyone else ‘s so it is important that we respect other people’s rights too so that they can feel healthy and safe.
P2 created their own ‘helping hands’. They drew round their hands and wrote the names of 5 people they could get help from if they needed it.
P3/4 designed anti-bullying posters to remind everyone about helping everyone feel healthy and safe.
P5/6 and P6/7 looked at the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child to investigate which of the articles can be affected by bullying. We learned that many of the articles can be affected by bullying.
