We are waiting in great anticipation for the arrival of Elfis tomorrow!
Primary 6/7 timed it perfectly for our walk along the ‘Private Approach’ in the sunshine to spot wildlife today! We saw the Swans resting in their nest and spotted Deer tracks along the verge.
We popped along the path to the old Curling Rink and even managed a rest there! We are looking forward to finding out some history of the rink before it was regenerated in 2004.
Once we made it all the way to the bridge, we collected sticks to have some fun with a game of ‘Pooh Sticks’. Some of us went for logs but realised that they wouldn’t go far!
On your marks! Get set! Go!
Great anticipation – whose stick will appear first?
Some of us even managed to camouflage ourselves!
Next week, we will head even further into Craigengillan and pop along to Perkelly at the foot of Ness Glen. What will we discover next time?
Our Paths Pupils of the Day enjoyed wearing his Christmas jumper today! 🎅🏻🎄The Secret Agents of Elfis said he is great at football, a very good friend and kind. What lovely compliments!
Primary 6/7 rose to the challenge of adding some Christmas sparkle to our Pupil of the Day, set by Elfis, our elf who will be returning next week! Our Pupil of the Day can wear their Christmas jumpers, are given their very own Santa hat and compliments are shared by our Secret Agents of Elfis! Our pupil today is kind, funny and always tries her best! 🎅🏻 🎄 🌟
The children continue to be excited about their phonics and their skills and confidence grow each day. Over the next 2 weeks they will be bringing home their first reading books and will be very proud to share with you. We have completed set 1 sounds and are starting to explore sounds such as oo and ee . Please ensure they keep the home reading book in their bag as we use them in class daily. Thank you for your continued support. I am super proud of all their progress.
We ventured through the beautiful Craigengillan Estate today to identify trees and wildlife in our local area. We were so lucky to see swans, geese and even a heron looking for lunch! We all had great fun and are looking forward to heading out again next Friday!
Primary 1 have been exploring ten frames recently during their number talks. They further developed the skills they have learned and used the ten frame dice and ten trains to begin to look at number stories. Great work every one 😀
Primary 6/7 were left a mysterious letter this morning! We have been set a challenge by an Elf called ‘Elfis’ to discuss how we can add some Christmas sparkle to our Paths Pupil of the Day! We have decided that when it is our turn for Pupil of the Day, that we will wear our Christmas jumper, a party hat and have Secret Elf Agents to share compliments! 🌲🎅🏻🌟
Here in Primary 1 we love reading stories 😀 For book week, we read ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ and acted out the scenes from the book with finger puppets whilst finishing off by drawing some pictures from the book 🙂
Primary 1 have created their own ‘anti-bullying’ pledge for the class. They spoke about the importance of being kind and how to be a good friend 🙂
