Well done boys and girls.
Fantastic Icicles
Hello Everyone,
Mrs McWhinnie here, I’m missing all your lovely smiles, endless stories and your laughter filling our ECC. I cannot wait to see you all soon for the biggest cuddles ever.
On my way home tonight I found the most fantastic Icicles I have ever seen!
Have a look at them in the photographs, Have you found anything as wonderful whilst playing in the garden or out a wee walk, I would love to see them.
Send any photographs you have found to me at karen.mcwhinnie@eastayrshire.org.uk
Eden’s uncle sent her some pictures of some strange looking icicles in his garden, 1 looked like a spider 🕷 Thank you for sharing them with us Eden! 🙂
Working hard at home
Both Hallie & Aaron wanted to share their hard work they have been doing at home with everyone, they have been practicing their writing and pencil control.
Well done – superstars! ⭐
Being Healthy!
Mrs McKinlay and Mrs Caldwell used the parachute in the ECC gym hall with the boys & girls, They had so much fun making it go up in the air like a balloon. They put their toys in the middle and bounced them high into the sky. Then they made a tent and hid inside!
They talked about how exercise makes them feel, here are some of their responses “Happy” “Hot” “Sweating”.
You could try doing some exercises at home and see how it makes you feel 🙂 Maybe you could share your ideas here on our blog!
Kindness 💕
Kindness
Hi boys and girls, it’s Mrs Shaw.
Lockdown can be tough and we can sometimes forget to be kind to our family. In our house we came up with an idea to encourage kindness and helping others in our family. When you complete an act of kindness, you get a paper love heart to stick up on a wall/fridge. After a few days or a week you should have a lovely colourful display. Here’s a photo of our display. There’s 3 people in our family so we have 3 different coloured hearts. I’ll give you a small list of examples to get you started but I’m sure all you boys and girls will come up with lots of really kind and helpful ideas. Please share your displays with us 💙❤️🧡💛💚
Some ideas-
-Remember to say thank you
-Tell someone how much you love them
-Help make dinner
-Share your toys

Communication
Communication Tip of the Month
Here are some fun activities for you to enjoy with your children at home. We have added a link to the website which includes a story – The Dawn Chorus by Suzanne Barton.
These activities will help you communication with your child in different ways.
Watch and listen to the birds
Go outside to your garden or an outside space. Look around carefully and listen to the sounds you can hear. Can you see or hear any birds singing? Try it at different times of the day and talk about what you have discovered.
Hanging birds
Create your own birds like the ones in the book. Visit Suzanne Barton’s website for a template or draw your own. You can paint or colour the birds and even add feathers and googly eyes. Encourage your child to talk about what they are doing as they create their birds.
