Primary had a great time exploring the malls of the Science centre investigating forces, optical illusions, engineering and finding out about how the body works. They also participated in a workshop all about senses.
Members of the Eco Committee and the Pupil Council were involved in planting 8 trees to place in the garden and around the school grounds.
As part of our science and health and wellbeing topic we were investigating how we hear and how to look after our ears.
Pupils from across the school collaborated to build a bridge that held a weight using only 5 pieces of recycled paper and cello tape. Great collaborative learning.
We designed a toy that can be pushed or pulled and the pupils made some very successful models.
Welcome back to Primary 2. We are looking forward to learning about toys in the past and present this term.
Primary 1 had an amazing day at Dumfries House.
We learnt about what a plant needs to grow and planted our own broad beans.
We learnt about our senses in the garden and did a senses hunt in the garden. Then we made our own lavender bags.
This week we have been exploring our senses.
We enjoyed feeling and smelling our ‘mint’ and ‘cocoa’ playdough. Good enough to eat, but we all resisted!
We used our eyes to look for this week’s common words in books from the library.
We got to taste a range of fruits from the story Handa’s Surprise and talked about words to describe the taste.
