P1 have been learning about a child who lives in Kenya, Africa. We learnt that he lives in a house with only 1 room which measures 3m by 2.5m.
We went outside and measured how big his house would be.
10 pupils then lay down to see how much space everyone would have to sleep. P1 were surprised at how small it was!
P1 made a survey and visited P2, P3 and Primary 4 and 5 to find out what everyone’s favourite fruit was.
After collecting the information in tally marks, we have been working together to display the information in a pictogram.
It was time to say goodbye to our butterflies today. Watch the video and look at the photos showing the butterflies first experience of the great outdoors. Thankfully the sun was shining for them!
Wow, well done P1, you have carefully looked after the caterpillars and chrysalises so well that ALL 5 butterflies have now emerged! Release day tomorrow, look out for the video clip of them being released.
Butterfly number 3 emerged today. I have circled the image to show where the butterflies are. It was tricky to get them all in one photo, camera-shy butterflies 🦋
After a very lazy Sunday, one of the butterflies decided to show of his lovely colouring. Check out the video below.
