We went outside to plant Hyacinths in the garden. We cannot wait to see them flower!
We have been reading, The Very Hungry Caterpillar in class. The class had to think where the butterfly might fly to after coming out of the cocoon. We went outside and in groups took photos on the iPads of where the butterfly might go around the playground.
We shared the photos back in the classroom and used the ideas to help inspire our writing.
Primary 1 have been continuing to develop their fitness and co-ordination skills. They moved around the gym hall in different ways and had to listen to instructions to respond and touch the correct coloured marker. Lots of fast feet and changes of direction were needed!
We have just started to learn joined phonemes this week. This week our sound is ‘sh’. We have been working with a partner to make as many sh words as we can.
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, we had a Taekwondo session. We learned kicks and punches.
To celebrated Chinese New Year, we made Stir Fry Noodles. P1 practised the bridge and claw grip when chopping the vegetables.
After cooking, the best bit…eating the noodles!
During Children’s Mental Health Week, we have been doing some meditation and massage.

It has all been about number in Primary 1 today! We all had to come to school wearing a number.
We even had to write the answers to the calculations on this t-shirt.
As we have been learning about Chinese New Year, we decided to have a go at writing numbers in Mandarin.
