Following the mud kitchen eggs the children had the opportunity to make scrambled eggs and toast for snack.

The children loved the responsibility of helping to peel and chop a variety of veggies for their salad. Although the taste test proved unpopular.
The children used paint, glue and collage materials to design and make pizzas with various toppings. There was lots of descriptive language as they chose their toppings.

The paper pizzas were so popular we followed the childrenās interest and made real pizzas. We used tortilla wraps, Passata, cheese, onion and ham. The children had the freedom to chop, grate and choose their individual toppings.

3 Lions, 3 ladybirds and a cheeky frog went on the first trip of the year to Dobbies garden center. We all went on the mini bus thanks to Amanda our community practitioner.
We explored the toy section, dinosaurs and the cute plush toys proving most popular.
We took a quick peek at all the different sizes of fish and “so cool” aquarium ornaments.
It was magical. The children loved the realist woodland animals and had the chance to sit in Santa’s big fluffy chair.

Real tools
The children are learning to keep themselves safe using real tools: hammers and screwdrivers with screws and nails. They are developing fine motor skills and hand to eye coordination.
Play dough proved popular along with googly eyes, pumpkin seeds, dry pasta and spaghetti.
The children have shown a strong interest in dinosaurs. We have a giant book full of dinosaurs describing where they lived, what size they were and what they loved to eat.

The children had the opportunity to take on the role of a Palaeontologist and dig for dinosaur bones/skeletons in frozen wet sand. It took patience and skill but all the fossils were found safely.

We scratched off all the places that dinosaur fossils had been found. The map scratching became very popular.
