Countdown is on

Letters to Santa. Fantastic opportunity to mark make with a purpose. The children loved the novelty of writing on lined paper. They all followed the lines from left to right, demonstrating early writing skills.

An invitation to explore festive dough. We had Christmas trees and gingerbread men.

Salon is open to get party pampered.

Gingerbread man bath bomb proved popular.

“Smell it, it’s yummy”

We went a walk to collect berries and leaves to make frozen tree ornaments.

We used scissors to trim the branches down

Naughty Elf antics

The cheeky Elf was playing too rough with the boys and now he has lost a leg.

We gave him first aid and sent him to hospital with a bandage and wheelchair. We are praying for a full recovery.

He even tried to steal one of our shortbread Christmas trees on his way to get the ambulance.

The Elf returned from the hospital with fantastic news. Their leg is all better but they are having a baby.

The Elf needed a bath a some Elsa to make her feel better before the baby comes

On Thursday we found that the Elf baby was here. “Aw, it’s so cute”

“Our Elf went down stairs and had diarrhea in the kitchen”

“My Elf took a photo of Daddy’s butt”

“My Elf was in the fridge”

Ice cold Science

We found a a huge piece of ice inside one of the tyres outside. We decided to experiment by breaking it into two pieces and predicting which piece would melt the quickest. We added some of the janitor’s salt grit to one shard and left the second clear.

The children waited patiently on the results.

What one do you think will melt?

The children were amazed at how quickly the ice melted.

“We need a Jack Hammer…….. I’ve got a wooden one”

We counted out the time it took to melt.

Well being Week

Colour Monster jars

The children had the opportunity to talk about their emotions and make their own feelings jar using collage materials that represent each emotion in colour sealed inside a laminated pouch.

“Happy”

“Sad, I miss my Daddy”

“I’m doing all the colours cause that’s me, happy, sad, grumpy, calm, scared that’s me inside.

Rainbow breaths

Rainbow meditation helps us control our breathing and brings our attention to the present.

“This makes me sleepy”

Painting to classical music

We played a compilation of classical up tempo and soothing music to help the creativity flow. The children painted while listening to the music, some even moved their bodies to the rhythm. Each painting is a unique and beautiful masterpiece that we would all be proud to display in our homes.

“I don’t like that music, do you have dance music”

“I want to do it again” “can I make another painting ”

We voted for something special for our fun Friday

We decided to bring the gym equipment into the playroom and visit the gym hall after lunch.

Balancing, climbing, maneuvering obstacles, waiting our turn and building confidence.
