Our papier-mache planets are ready for painting. The children loved the concept of painting the planets as they hung from a wooden frame. One of the frog group children was my in house astrology expert. He was consulted on the colours and placement of each planet.
Some of the children wanted to see what Earth looks like to help them paint the planet accurately. We used the Ipad to research planet images as reference.

The children then sorted stars and moons using tweezers; this develops fine motor skills.
The Green frogs are very upset, Jumpy their group mascot has gone missing.
The children drew “wanted and missing” posters in the hope of his safe return.
