Maths and movement

Orbeez kept the children busy all week. There was lots of descriptive language and exploring volume using cups, spoons  scoops and bottles.

“Look it’s full, right up the top”

Maths week.

We began our week with the mathematical language of size. Finding the biggest or smallest shape and ordering items by size.

We used measuring tapes to look for items that were big and small.

“It’s 89 hundred” “That’s really big”

Exploring symmetry proved popular.

“It’s the same”

We scaffolded their learning further by challenging the children to symmetry games on the promethean board.

We made an obstacle course.

Developing the children’s confidence and gross motor skills.

Balancing

Maneuvering over different heights.

Navigating steps and slopes.
