We found a a huge piece of ice inside one of the tyres outside. We decided to experiment by breaking it into two pieces and predicting which piece would melt the quickest. We added some of the janitor’s salt grit to one shard and left the second clear.
The children waited patiently on the results.
What one do you think will melt?
The children were amazed at how quickly the ice melted.
“We need a Jack Hammer…….. I’ve got a wooden one”
We counted out the time it took to melt.
