Home link challenge – Week 1
Hello everyone, hope you are all well and ready for a wee challenge with your child. Over the next 4 weeks, I will have small numeracy challenges planned that the children can try, either indoors or outdoors.
This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your child.
Measuring and comparing.
I can use the language of capacity - full/empty. I can use non standard items for measuring - hands, feet, blocks, jugs and bottles I can identify items by size and/or amount - big/small, light/heavy rain full/empty from a choice of two.
Can you assist your child in using different sized pans to fill up your sink?
– How many small pans/ large pans did you use?
– Is the sink full?
– What other items could you use to fill up the sink? eg spoons, kettle, bottles
– Could you draw me a picture of the items you used?
Please have a look at the sway attached to see all the fabulous learning opportunities and experiences that have taken place over the past couple of weeks. We could not do this without the dedication and effort from our staff team, families and community of Catrine.
Merry Christmas everyone !
