Bookbug and a Cuppa

On Tuesday 7th November we are holding a Bookbug session within our Community Room with Alana.

The Bookbug session with your child will be from 9.15am-10am.

Once this is finished the children will return to the playrooms, thereafter, from 10-11am, you are free to stay in our Community room and have a cuppa and a blether with other parent/carers from the ECC if you have time to do so.

If you and your child would like to join us on this morning then please fill out the form below. Due to the quality that we aim to provide and space, this session will be capped at 15 spaces so please don’t wait too long to request a space.

Don’t forget it is our HWB Come Dine With Me parent/child workshop on Wednesday 25th October at 1pm with Lesleyanne and her glamourous assistant Alana (LOL)

All parent/carers who requested a space have been lucky enough to get one on this occasion. All 12 spaces have been filled, so for those of you attending, we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday at 1pm ready to cook 🙂

Catrine ECC Party

On Thursday  our Party will have a Beach theme.

Your child can come dressed for the occasion, if they wish.

There will be games in the morning and at 2pm we plan to have a water fight in the Greenspace.

Collection will be at the normal time. Please enter as usual via the main ECC door, collect your child’s items and make your way to the Greenspace to sign your child out. If you wish to bring dry clothes for your child to travel home in you can use our toilet areas to assist them in changing.

Your child can bring along a water soaker or empty squeezy bottle e.g. old shower gel or fairy liquid bottle.

Catrine ECC new logo

Some of you will remember in January when we moved back into Newton Street that we asked for your help in designing us a new ECC logo.

We asked children, staff, parent/carers as well as the wider community when they attended our very well attended Open Night on 1st February to be a part of this.

All entries were shared on our electronic platforms for everyone to vote for their favourite.

Votes were counted and verified, which gave us an adult winner and a child winner.

We then decided to take both of these to our East Ayrshire printroom and ask if the dedicated team there could somehow pull parts of both to create a finished product.

So a huge congratulations to MEAH ROY, aged 5 and currently at our ECC and NIAMH SHIRKIE, a former pupil at both the ECC and Primary school, who had the winning designs!

You can see the process we went through below to get to our final design.

How we got to our new Catrine ECC logo design

Child winning entry – by Meah Roy age 5

Adult winning entry – by Niamh Shirkie

Both merged together = our new Catrine ECC Logo

This image will be sent to the nearby printing shops if you wish to purchase our new ECC uniforms for starting back in August.

We can’t wait to see how smart everyone looks on their first day 🙂

Thank you for your continued support

From all at Catrine ECC.

Please, please, please give your feedback :)

This is the time of year that we ask for your views, feedback and comments to help us with our centre Improvement Plan.

Have a super holiday weekend.

Sun Safety

Free Sunshine Clipart Pictures - Clipartix
As we prepare for the warmer weather, the safety of our children in the sunshine is a factor that we need to consider.

Each year we require parents to apply the first layer of sun cream BEFORE they arrive in the morning. Children MUST have sun cream on if they wish to play outdoors on sunny days. Each child should bring a bottle of sun cream with them to keep at the ECC.  In the afternoon we would apply a second layer for those children wishing to access our outdoor areas.

The weather forecast for the rest of the week has to be high temperatures (and hopefully more to come in the next few months) therefore this will start from tomorrow (Tuesday 18th April 2023)

The children love to explore our outdoor areas so we thank you for your cooperation in helping to ensure that your child can continue to play outdoors in the nicer weather 🙂
