Sherrie’s Bumblebees

Hi I’m Sherrie

Hi, Welcome to the Bumblebee group blog. We will be posting some pictures of what we have been busy doing in the ECC every 2 weeks. Don’t forget to check in and see what we’ve been learning.

October

Logan showed an interest in the Christopher pumpkin story. He was able to recall a few parts of the story and use the pictures to predict what was happening in the story.

Cole spent time creating his own potions using pumpkin seeds, oats and feathers. He worked on developing his fine motor skill by using the pincers to pick the items up.

Callum spent time focusing on developing his mark making skills using the chalkboard pumpkins.

Abi has been exploring using real tools. Abi was able to identify dangers when using real tools and how to protect herself and others when using the tools.

Katie has been exploring using real tool. Katie had good control when hammering the golf tee into the pumkin, she was also able to use the claw part of the hammer to remove the golf tee from the pumpkin safely.

Harry was interested in carving our pumpkin for our pumpkin trail. He was keen to use the scoop to get all of the seeds out from inside the pumpkin. Harry was patient and waited his turn. He was also kind and shared the resources with the other children.

Olivia was a super helper out on our walk in the community she supported another child as it was his first time out a walk with the group. She helped other children stay safe by making them aware of the dangers when out in the community.

September

Callum spent time building with the bricks. While building Callum recited the song London Bridge is falling down. His favourite part was “build it up with bricks”.

Abi spent time building with the wooden blocks. She showed good problem solving skills and team work when trying to connect the block together. They then started to compare the height of the tower to the height of her friends.

Harry was exploring our light box. He created lots of different towers using the light box blocks. We explored colour, shape and size when building the towers.

Logan  used his imagination to role  play with the castle and the worry monster. Worry monster was chasing Mr Mr Giant out of the castle.

Olivia enjoyed using the chalk obstacle  course outside, she explored counting and number recognition while participating in the activity .

Cole spent a long time exploring the hairdressing table. He showed good imaginative play when taking on the role as a hairdresser

.
