Update

The staff at both Catrine P.S. and ECC would like to thank you for your support and understanding during these unsettled times. We appreciate your concerns and worries and hopefully by working together we can answer your questions.

We will update our GLOW Blog and APP with any further updates following the First Minister’s announcements this afternoon. All EAC advice and guidelines will also be shared via these channels.

ECC staff have compiled a list of appropriate websites that you can access with your child over the coming weeks. This list will be posted on ECC Glow blog and APP this afternoon – look out for it!

ECC staff will be posting activities/learning suggestions every day, so please ensure that access GLOW on a daily basis.

Thank you.

Literacy & Expressive Arts Stay and Play Session

No heating – no problem !

We didn’t let the chilly temperatures get us down on Friday as we carried on regardless with our Stay and Play Sessions.

We kept busy throughout and the children showed super ownership of their ECC as they took parents and carers around the setting exploring their environment both indoors and out.

Transition

Today Group 2 returned to Primary 1 for their second visit.  Together we read the book “Supertato” then created characters from the book.

The ECC children and their buddies worked together to construct models with the wooden blocks and played the Yeti counting game on the promethean board.

School/ECC – Home Communication

With regards to the ongoing COVID-19 situation this is a reminder that all communications from school and ECC will be done via:

  • school APP – ECC/primary school
  • GLOW – ECC/primary school
  • ParentPay email (primary school only)

It is important that parent/carers check these communication channels on a daily basis to ensure that you are kept up to date with East Ayrshire Council’s latest updates.

If you currently don’t have access to any of the above, please contact Catrine Primary School office who will help you.

Thank you.

Banana Loaf

This afternoon we made banana loaves –  the children looked at the recipe and helped to measure out all of the ingredients.

They all got a turn to mix the ingredients using the electric mixer.

Great language used throughout the activity, ” it looks like slime, gloopy, yuck!’ After it was made – ‘that smells yum , yum, emmmmm!’
