Having fun at our garden party…

Most of the children have been involved making crowns and flags to have at the garden party.

The children have been baking cakes for the Queens Jubilee garden party.

The children in the Birch room have been waiting patiently to see the butterflies, we now have 5 so far.

This week we have enjoyed going to visit the school where we listened to a story and explored a classroom with some interesting activities. Lots of children have been talking about feeling excited and happy about going to school and we will continue with some informal transitions within the school.

We have also been getting ready for our jubilee celebrations where we have started to make some bunted and been drawing some lovely pictures of the queen with charcoal.

we also explored the new quiet area within the garden where we have been exploring books and finding new things to do with our pallets, this week we were practicing our balancing and jumping on them.

Children were investigating pattern they were able to  continue a simple pattern.

Children were enjoying the sunny days, relaxing in the sunshine.

Investigating small quantities of numbers outdoors.

Having fun building towers and developing fine motor skills.

Children have been exploring lots of sand play will using tools and loose parts. Experimenting the properties of sand and water.

We have had fun exploring different ways to make pattern using various materials…

We have also been using our engineering skills in the construction area…

And a quick update on the progress of our caterpillars, they are beginning to form their cocoons so will be transferred to their net soon where we will observe the next stages…

A couple of the children have been monitoring the change in the caterpillar ‘s  each day this is day 8…

Some of the children have been using different materials to build and create their own towers and buildings.

Some of the children have been exploring the new resources within the nurture room.

This week we have been very busy in the birch room, we have been exploring pattern by copying, continuing and creating our own using a variety of materials

We have also had some very special visitors who helped us learn about caring for baby animals and how to be kind and gentle

Alongside this we have also been enjoying our outdoor learning area which has been opened up to allow more room for everyone to explore and enjoy learning in the recent good weather

We have had lots of Easter fun this week.
We Made some Easter crafts, made some chocolate nests, went on a lovely Easter parade with our Easter bonnets and had lots of fun on our egg hunt.

Football training

The children have enjoyed football training with Catriona our modern apprentice. They were working on dribbling the ball and scoring goals.

Butterflies in our Garden

Some of the children have created their own butterflies to brighten up the garden. They have been learning all about the life cycle.
