The Wee Rid Motor – Robert Burns

With Burns day fast approaching on 25th January we will be listening to some Scottish music and Poems over the next few weeks within the ECC.   We have chosen a well known Scottish poem The Wee Rid Motor 🚘 that you can help your child to learn at home if they wish.

You can send us a wee short video of them reciting the poem and as part of our Burns Day Celebrations the children that wish to will have an opportunity to recite the poem for their friends within the ECC.

week beginning 3/10/21

This week within the birch room we have been making our own bread, butter and strawberry jam where we followed instructions and identified some risks.

we have also been making some changes to our garden, we made a den and a ramp to play on for the bikes and scooters.

We are enjoying exploring the Autumn objects that some children have returned  and been using tongs and egg boxes to make patterns and sorting objects

Quantity and more or less

We have been developing our understanding of quantity and more/less.

24/9/21

The children were developing their understanding of small quantities of numbers when counting the Pom poms on to the corresponding number plate .  Some children were also developing  their number recognition.
