Children throughout the school have been enjoying taking part in the Imprint Book Festival at the Dick Institute.  This has given them a great opportunity to meet with authors and hear first hand their experiences as a writer.  I’m sure the children have found this quite inspiring and will now bring this experience to life through their own writing.

Well done to all pupils who took part in the recent football team trials and congratulations to those who have been successfully selected to represent LPS on our team.  All children have now been notified and the new team are looking forward to taking part in this sporting challenge during the school year ahead.

Training will commence on Wednesday 8th November at St Joseph’s astro turf, 3.30-4.45pm, pupils to be dropped off and collected.  This will be weekly unless notified.

At this of year many children are enjoying lots of lovely Halloween sweet treats.  As we have several pupils within our school who have severe nut allergies, we would be grateful if you could ensure that all snacks and packed lunches sent into school do not contain any products containing nuts (eg. Nutella, chocolate spread, Reese’s Pieces etc).  Your co-operation with this matter is much appreciated.

To enable the children to continue to enjoy their daily mile, weather permitting, can we please ask that children have outdoor jackets with them every day.  For more information on the Daily Mile initiative please click here.

P7 pupils will be coming round the classes over the next week collecting for The Scottish Poppy Appeal.  All pupils will have the opportunity to receive a poppy in return for a donation.  Thank You

Children are welcome to come to school on Friday 27th in Halloween costumes and will take part in Halloween activities during the day.   There is no charge for this activity.

Meeting tonight, Monday 23rd October, at 7pm at Kilmarnock Academy.  All welcome to attend.

P5 & P6 After School Boxercise Club – starts on Monday 30th October, 3-4pm and will continue for 6 session (last session is on 4th December).   Letters have been sent home in schoolbags today.  Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.
