Galston Gala Day

Great fun was had at Galston Gala Day on the 14th June.

Our very own Niamh was crowned queen and Franky was the prince.  Prizes were won by Kyle P1/2, Millie P2M, Andrew P3H, Lucy P4S, Ruby and Ava in P5/6 for their excellent poster designs.

Children were dressed up and all of the floats were fabulous.  Even the weather did not put us off!

Congratulations Eco Committee

We did it!

The Eco committee are delighted to announce that they have achieved the Green Flag Award.Led by Reece, Faith and Logan in P7 the group of children working with Mr. McAughtrie, Ms. Field and Mrs. Thomson have been successful in gaining an Eco School Green Flag.  With help and support for their activities, from the whole school, they have worked to make Galston Primary a Green Flag School.  The activities which included litter picks, switching off lights to save electricity, planning for learning in the outdoors, checking on insect and wildlife, taking learning outdoors and recycling have kept the committee busy this session.

A huge well done to everyone!

Polwarth House Treat – Yellow House

At prizegiving, the Yellow House were announced as the overall winners for this year. Their points were earned throughout the year for consistently demonstrating the school values.
As a reward, the Yellow House pupils are invited to take part in a Colour Run Obstacle course this Friday 20th at 2pm.
Yellow House pupils should bring an old set of clothes to change into after lunch time as they will get wet and very dirty! If they have sunglasses it would also be useful.  Any Yellow House child may bring a water soaker with them if they have one.
We are also hoping to provide children with an ice cream.
If you do not want your child to have an ice cream or participate in the colour run, please contact the school office.

Work Well, Gang Faur
