Application form 1 below is for pupils aged 5 to 10 years old, so will only affect your ECCs, Primary and Special schools. It will only affect your ECCs at this point if a pupil has deferred entry to primary. All other ECC pupils will not be aged 5 until 1 March 2027. This card was previously known as the NEC Junior Card and is now known as the Kidz Kard. East Ayrshire did not use the NEC Junior card as we had our own version The Shout Card. The Shout Card will continue to be administered by Vibrant Communities but will not include the Free Bus Service Travel chip. Parents must apply for this card on behalf of their child. We will only accept applications from parents registered as the main contact for each pupil.

Application form 2 below is for pupils aged 11 to 15 years old. This application form is for a National Entitlement Card. For pupils under the age of 16 parents must apply for the National Entitlement Card on behalf of their child. We will only accept applications from parents registered as the main contact for each pupil. Parents have the option of having the Young Scot branding and / or The PASS Hologram and / or the Free Bus Travel added to this card.

Parent’s evening appointments are available by telephoning the school office.
You will have an opportunity to speak with the teacher and see the work your children have been doing.
Attendance at school is a National and Local priority. This is because non attendance has such a high impact on children’s progress not just academically but socially and emotionally also. The illustration below captures what absence looks like.
To assist parents to be aware of the percentage their child has been attending, a text will be sent out at the beginning of each week, starting this week, with the overall attendance for every pupil. Parents of any pupil falling below 90% should contact the school to speak with Mrs Milne to discuss supporting their child’s attendance.
Please note that the earlier in the term that your child is absent, the bigger impact that will be seen on the percentage attendance.

The learning jigsaws, giving parents an overview of the term’s work are now available for classes. You can find them under the class tabs on the top right hand side of the menu or through the links below.
At the beginning of a year the children often forget to collect all their belongings. Can we please ask that names are put on all items especially on jumpers, cardigans and hoodies as many of the children will remove these items and forget where they have left them. If there is a name on the item staff will be able to reunite it with the child. Otherwise any unnamed items will go to lost property as we have no way of telling who they belong to. A permanent Sharpie type marker is best for this as it does not wash off.
If your child brings home the wrong item please return it to the school the following school day.
