The Social Subjects course for S1-S2 provides a wide range of different contexts for learning which draw on important aspects of everyday life and work. Social Subjects should broaden pupil knowledge about their history and the world they live in presently.
The course takes place over two years, providing pupils with the opportunity to develop, consolidate and become secure in the knowledge and understanding of a wide range of issues relating to Social Subjects. The course will also provide opportunities to develop and practice enquiry and investigative skills and enable pupils to apply these skills when analysing material in their everyday lives. The S1-S2 course is designed to cover the Social Subjects Experiences and Outcomes as set out in Curriculum for Excellence.
