Glow Blogs
Available to all Glow users it can be accessed online at Glow Blogs or via app tile on Glow Launch Pad. Uses a modified version of WordPress so can create quite sophisticated multi-page websites (like this one!). Also used for creating pupil e-profiles.

Serif WebPlus
Serif WebPlus is professional software used to design webpages. It would be most suitable for use with upper school classes who have already had some experience of working with Glow Blogs.

Podcasts
Podcasts are simply digital audio files which are made available for download. There are various platforms available to allow you to upload your files. Try: Spreaker or PodOmatic which offer free basic packages.

Vlogging
The term ‘vlog’ comes from the shortening of video log, which is simply a video file made available for download. Typically vlogs are like a video diary where the vlogger shares their thoughts and opinons.

Cyber Etiquette (Netiquette)
Social media is a powerful tool for communication but, as with any tool (including the humble pencil and paper) it can be damaging if used incorrectly. The following sites will help with suggestions on how, and how not, to behave online. Also check out resources on the Cyber Resilience & Safety page.
Yammer
Yammer is a social networking service used for private communication within an organisation. All Glow users, both staff and pupils, have access to Glow Yammer through Office 365. Every user is automatically a member of ‘All Company’ and can see and respond to any posts in this group. This can sometimes get a little ‘cluttered’ with content which may not be relevant to you. Pupils are also able to freely post to Yammer and their comments are not moderated before being published; WARNING – some comments may not be appropriate for younger pupils. However, you can create your own private groups in order to collaborate and communicate with specific Glow users, such as colleagues or your class.
