Dragon Eggs

Last week as part of the STEM lesson I made dragon eggs.

To do this I first boiled eggs for 10 minutes and then cooled them in cold water.

I then prepared five mugs with water and a few drops of food colouring in each.

When the eggs had cooled I rolled them about to break the shells and popped each into a mug and put them in the fridge overnight.

In the morning, I took the eggs out of the mugs and peeled the shells off.  The pattern on the egg underneath was amazing, they really did look like a dragons egg.  I was very pleased with the result.

My finished Dragon Eggs – which one is your favourite?

What I got for Christmas

I got a quad bike for Christmas. I got it from my Mum and Dad and my Granddad and it is very fun. It is red and it is a Honda and it goes very fast. We go on it in the fields. It is at our new house. we have got a trailer with it too. We have got a little basket on it for one of my 3 sisters to go in. While someone is driving one of us can only can go in the basket at a time.

At our new house!

At the weekend we went to our new house. We were tidying up the shed and inside! My dad says that we are going to be in by July! I am so excited and I also get my own room. We might get some sheep and maybe a horse. We are going to have a big wooden shed by the pond so we can watch all of the ducks in the pond. If we had friends round we could play down in the shed too (when we are allowed).

Alfie and charlies blog

I have learned that I can look out for full stops in my writing. Charlies learned that he can do his literacy better now. I also think if I listen carefully I can do anything. Charlie also learned that he can do his time tables even faster.  I can do my times tables in different and faster ways. Charlie can do hiccups better. I can do my star jumps even faster. My highest amount I was able to do is 140. Charlie can do running on the spot even better than he could before. I’m better at my taking away. It’s not so hard now I’ve been doing that thing with Miss Barker.

Scottish activity

I really liked learning about the Scottish body parts. Some of them were exactly like how we say them but some were completely different. I liked drawing the body and labelling all the different parts in Scots.

Spring

It’s the first day of spring and our first lamb is due from the 18/03/21—25/03/21! If a lambs head is sticking out without the front legs it’s called a hung lamb but you have to push back the head and find the front legs and pull them out so then the head will come out with it! If the lamb is struggling to breath, you put a bit of straw up both sides of its nose and put your finger in it’s mouse and clean out the mucus! Some lambs have a natural birth! When a lamb isn’t well you stick it under the heat lamp.

New books!

Hi everyone, for Christmas I got these cat books they have really funny names like Boudicat  and Clawdius. I am half way through I am spartapuss and I am really enjoying it!
