Dragon Eggs

Last week as part of the STEM lesson I made dragon eggs.

To do this I first boiled eggs for 10 minutes and then cooled them in cold water.

I then prepared five mugs with water and a few drops of food colouring in each.

When the eggs had cooled I rolled them about to break the shells and popped each into a mug and put them in the fridge overnight.

In the morning, I took the eggs out of the mugs and peeled the shells off.  The pattern on the egg underneath was amazing, they really did look like a dragons egg.  I was very pleased with the result.

My finished Dragon Eggs – which one is your favourite?
