In term 3, Primary 6 have been working very hard.

In Maths with Mrs Sim we were working on money and budgeting.  In Maths with Mrs Sloan we were working on  train timetables and working out the different times.

Currently, with Mr McCrone, we are now working on Data Handling.

In Literacy with Mrs Sim we are working on writing about a  description about a character . In Literacy with Mrs Sloan we are writing about Robert Burns and Scot’s language.

In P.E with Mr sharp we are working on our fitness.

P5, P6 and P7 have been getting lessons from Feis Rois and The Greystone Rovers Foundation – ‘Kicking Carbon’.   On Wednesday the 15th of January, Joanne came in from  The Greystone Rovers Foundation  for her first session to teach us about climate change.  This is an 8 week programme.

On Thursday the 16th of January we had Ben from The Greystone Rovers Foundation, he came to teach us tennis.  Ben will also be coming for 8 weeks, linking physical exercise to climate change.

In Mrs Sim’s Skills Academy group we have been learning about renewable and non-renewable energy.

On the first week we learned what renewable and non-renewable means.

On the second week we had to get into groups and discuss what we wanted to make like a village , farm , house range and forest.

On the third week we started to make our models and put descriptions about how it’s sustainable.

On the fourth week we shared our models and then people got to take their models home.

In Term 2 Primary 6 have been working very hard.

For the first 3 weeks after the October holidays we had a student teacher, Mr McCrone who helped us for Maths , Literacy etc .

In Maths with Mrs Sim we have been working on simplifying  fractions and with Mrs Sloan we learned angles and how to draw them , now we are moving onto time like 12hr time and 24hr time.

In literacy with Mrs Sim we have been learning to write a news report.

In P.E with Mr Sharp we have been working on gymnastic and working with a partner to make moves up.

In IDL we have been learning about natural disaster and on the 27th of November P5 to P7 are going on a school trip to Dynamic Earth.

In September an MSP came to visit P6 and told us all about the Scottish Parliament, how laws are passed and how important it is to vote. She gave us a piece of paper with one side  saying “Scottish” and the other side saying “Great Britain” and we had to choose who created the laws.  We then created political parties and we had to share our manifesto with the class.  Afterwards we had to vote for the party we wanted to be elected.

In Mrs Sims Skills Academy group we were learning all about renewable energy sources and how to be sustainable. We made 3D models of sustainable buildings. We also explored how to make circuits.

Hello! This your P6 digital leaders Evie and Katelyn.  We have been working very hard since we came into P6, here are some of the things we have been doing.  In Maths with Mrs Sloan we have been working on the nets of 3D shapes and learning the edges, vertices and faces with polydron. In Maths with Mrs Sim we have been rounding numbers – some of us are rounding millions!

In Literacy with Mrs Sim we have been watching Newsround, taking notes then put it into a summary. In Literacy with Mrs SIoan we are starting  to write our own Blog and working on poetry .

In P.E with Mr Sharp we have been learning tennis skills and working with a partner . With Mrs Sim we have been playing hockey.

In IDL, our new topic is ‘Democracy’.   We have been researching all of these things with a partner and finding out the four main political parties.  We are exciting to make our own class parties.
