On Tuesday 26th of March, Ethan, Reece W, Ellie and Eva went to Troqueer Primary for the Roatary Quiz.
There were 8 rounds including Maths and Numeracy, expressive arts, science and modern technology, observation, Scotland and its people, Pot luck and more.
Out of 13 schools we came 5th!

In term 3 with Mrs Brown we did design and manufacture and it was very fun. In it we made cushions, a monster bookmark and an Easter bunny. We improved our sewing skills, our listening skills, and our co-operative skills. Here are some photos:

We have decided on our new digital leaders and for Primary 5/6 we chose Archie and Mitchell! They are very excited to do the job and they are very happy they got it. Mitchell is in charge of primary 1/2 and Archie is in charge of primary 5/6.

In Skills Academy Mrs McKirdle did drama with the infants classes. They have been exploring scripts to develop characters, emphasising expressions and tone and they were reading short dramas and prepared scripts.

This term the school have been doing Skills Academy on a Wednesday afternoon 1:20 to 2:20 but sometimes it’s to 2:50. The pupils were put into groups and then given a class to go to at the times listed. The people who went to the P5 classroom got to do food and health!
They had to research and come up with a French café and their budget was 40 pounds for 30 people. They also learned about allergies and intolerances they did a carousel about a food and why it’s not safe to eat it. In that week they also learned about bacteria growth. They were also sampling foods and using their senses to describe foods for example what the food tastes like, what the food felt like (in and out of the mouth), what the food looked like and what the food smelt like. Once they had got the food they had a sheet to fill in about what they think the food tasted like, felt like, looked like and smelt like. Here are some photos of them sampling foods:
