Area in Primary6/7

Primary 6/7 have been studying area this week in maths. We have been using the formula a=l x b to calculate the area of a square or a rectangle. We then completed a challenge in pairs, where we had to measure and draw 10 rectangles, cut them out then place them on a 100 square, trying to cover as much of the 100 square as possible. The winning pair covered the biggest area.

The META skills we used were:

  • communication
  • collaborating
  • critical thinking
  • leading
  • focusing
  • adapting
