Operation Safety

On Thursday 6th October P7 went to visit DGOne in order to participate in Operation Safety.

We visited lots of activities which were connected with the emergency services. – Ria

At the ‘Fire’ station we had to throw a pretend rocket and whichever card it landed on we had to decide whether we could burn it on a bonfire or not.

In one of the activities we went into a room and saw a body lying on the floor. We had to decide how to respond in this situation. We learnt how to place someone in the recovery position. – Leah

At the water safety station we got to see how the fire service dress when they are going to save someone. We learnt what we should do when someone is drowning in the water. – Ava

When visiting Scottish Power we had to figure out how to stay safe around electricity.- Corrie

At the police activity we talked about online safety and made a video about how to stay safe online.- Aila

Next we visited the Youth Work station where we were talking about who our role models were and why. – Grace

I thought that Operation Safety was fun and we learned a lot. – Kacey.

We developed our teamwork and communication skills while we were at Operation Safety.- Skye
