Zig Zag Snakes!

We used a hacksaw and bench hook to cut our wood.

We used glue and triangles for joining our wood.

Where would you like to read?

We wonder where your ‘Silliest’ place to read would be? We had kennels, the washing machine, in a digger, in a bath, outside in the dark, upside down, in a suitcase.. to name but a few!

Was great fun! Well done to our amazing families for joining in the fun!

Happy World Book Day from Duncow

We had the best time celebrating reading and books! What fun with quizzes, games, stories and so much more! We even had the ‘Tiger Who Came to Tea’ come to our Duncow tea party! Thankfully no cakes were stolen in the making of this photo gallery and all children were safe! Huge shout out to our Tiger, James, what a champion!!!!!

Fabric Collage

We are learning what fabric collage is and how artists use it to create images. We explored different fabrics and textures then used them to create birds eye views of fields.

Wood Technology

We have been learning how to use a junior hacksaw and bench hook safely to cut wooden dowels. We glued the dowels together and reinforced the corners with card triangles to make rectangular frames. We were given measurements for the first frames.   For the second frames we were given cards and photos and had to measure them then plan and make frames to fit them.

Book Fair Comes to Town – World Book Day Part 2 (and pyjamas!!!)

We want to thank our amazing Parent Council for once again organising the Scholastic Book Fair which will be coming to Duncow Primary on Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th of March. Yes – that’s NEXT WEEK!!! Just in time for our World Book Day celebrations!

We cannot wait to show you all the fun and learning taking place next week – books books books books!

(The Book Fair will be open from 2.15pm on Tues and Thurs)

Happiness in Nature – by Lydia P5

Happiness in Nature

Crunchy leaves falling off trees

Plants dying out, going on walks

Passing all the animals and saying hi

Little kids throwing leaves into the air

Through the trees you zoom

The sky slowly goes from dark to light

You can now hear the cows mooing and the sheep baaing

Horses, ponies and deer clip clopping around the fields

Birds flying to their nests

As the sun sets slowly, everything and everybody, gets into their beds, nests and burrows

Cozied up for bedtime

Good night!
