Silver Music Leaders Award

Course information

The award focuses on three main areas of study:

  • Performance
  • Leadership
  • Engagement with professional music

By completion of the Silver Award, you will develop:

  • Knowledge and understanding of self (own musical skills, qualities, strengths and weaknesses).
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of effective leadership practices within a musical context.
  • Knowledge of music within a wider cultural setting.
  • Ability to reflect on their own learning, identifying priorities for their own musical development.
  • Ability to critically review a performance.
  • Ability to provide effective peer support and mentoring in a musical setting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in order to contribute to the design, development and evaluation of a musical activity. 

Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded 24 Credits at SCQF Level 6.

Assessment methods

Portfolio submission of recordings, performances, logbooks, and other supporting evidence.

Entry requirements

Candidate should be able to perform 2 pieces at Grade 6 standard by the end of the assessment process.
