Gold Music Leaders Award

Course information

The award focuses on three main areas of study:

  • Performance
  • Leadership
  • Engagement with professional music

By completion of the Gold Award, you will develop:

  • Knowledge and understanding of self (own musical skills, qualities, strengths and weaknesses in relation to specific musical techniques and repertoire and to create and complete a plan for improvement).
  • The ability to provide peer support, mentoring and effective leadership practices within a musical context.
  • The ability to engage with professional music and musicians in a performance activity.
  • The ability to individually design, deliver and evaluate a musical activity, including effective planning of all rehearsals and performances.

Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded 30 Credits at SCQF Level 7.

Assessment methods

Portfolio submission of recordings, performances, logbooks, and other supporting evidence.

Entry requirements

Candidate should be able to perform 2 pieces at Grade 8 standard by the end of the assessment process.
