Welcome back…and the first award winners!

We were delighted to welcome everyone safely back to school after a well-earned summer holiday, and wish last session’s P7 pupils Rosie, Logan and Toby all the very best as they begin the next step on life’s journey…high school! We know they will be amazing superstars!

Last week we also welcomed some new faces in our classes as well as our brand new P1 pupils! They are settling in well to school life and we can’t wait to see their potential!

As Covid cases sadly continue to rise in Dumfries and Galloway, we are continuing with our safety measures from last session to ensure that all pupils and staff are mitigating risk and are as safe as we can be. Masks will still be worn by staff, and there will be lots and lots of hand washing and sanitising! Our pupils have been super when doing this and are showing such great resilience.  We are very proud of them!

In Borgue today we had our first awards session!

Jace and Morann were the winners for completing tasks independently and for super art work.

The winners of the house points were Jace and Arthur M for Ross, and Joel and Arthur S for Brighouse!

Well done, everyone!

Borgue Pupil of the Week assembly

We had another week of successful winners who achieved the most points and Pupil of the Week certificates!

Jake and Henry both received awards for their excellent effort and attitude to learning this week, well done!

House Points

Ross: winners were Kade and Caitlyn,

Brighouse: winners were Mackenzie and Morann

Great job everyone!

Mrs Graham also read us a story called “Jim and the Beanstalk” which was really funny! The giant got knew teeth, glasses and hair from Jim and then pretended he was going to eat him! Luckily Jim escaped home.

Here is a link to the story… Jim and the Beanstalk

Pupils of the week across the partnership

Another super week of hard work from everyone in Auchencairn and Borgue. We really enjoy celebrating the pupils’ successes in assembly each week and sharing in their achievements, which highlight the four capacites – successful learners, responsible citizens, effective contributors and confident individuals.

In Auchencairn we had Bertie for working hard when learning about money , Daisy for trying really hard with new concepts in maths and great effort in writing , and Toby last week for his superb effort and attention to detail when making his Titanic mini gymnasium model as well as being a great team leader and super mathematician . Well done all!

In Borgue we had Samson for listening well and setting a good example to others, and Lily for her excellent effort in reading! Great job!
