This week we had Jake and Lily as winners of the house points for Ross, and a brother and sister team winning Brighouse! The overall winners this week were Ross with 229 in total. Well done everyone!
Pupils of the week were Arthur S in P4 and a P1 pupil for their hard work, superb! They also were delighted to have the first of the Friday Hot Chocolate prizes for winning. Yum!
In Auchencairn, this P4 pupil built this fantastic arch today. We were particularly impressed with how she was able to build onto of her arch without it falling down!
In Auchencairn, P4-7 made these fantastic musical instruments with our art specialist Ms McLeman. They looked at the work of Robert Kesseler and the detail he includes in his art. Pupils made ‘gourds’ which were filled with seeds and decorated to make these beautiful finished pieces of work.
Mrs Pryde has made one of her fabulous hampers to raise funds for Auchencairn Primary. As you all know these hampers are always full of delicious and fun items that would make anyone’s Christmas special. Tickets are £1:00 each and will be sold by our P7 pupils over the next two weeks. We really appreciate Mrs Pryde making this up for the school and hope that she is well enough to visit us soon. The raffle will be drawn on Thursday 17th December.
These tissue paper stars were made by P4-7 with our art teacher Ms McLeman. All pupils made stars to give to the village shop and garage to display in their windows as displays of care and affection from everyone in school to the community. Please go and have a look!
Yesterday some of the older pupils in the school planted some new trees in the playground. they’re becoming very skilled in this and their super efforts will be helpful not only for the environment , but for helping us achieve an Eco Flag! Great job!
P4-7 have started a fantastic display of art work , based on the novel “Wonder” by RJ Palacio. The novel features the life of a boy called Augie who is heading to school for the first time, aged 12. He has had many corrective surgeries on his face, eyes, mouth and eyes which have left him scarred and self conscious. One of the book themes is kindnesses, which Augie is not always shows by others. We thought about how we can radiate kindness towards others and then created Wonder inspired art work. We think these are fab! What do you think?
