Food, Textiles and Technology Week: 07.09.26-11.09.26
This week P2/3 have been busy completing different tasks relating to their Food, Textiles and Technology focus week.
Technology (Robots): We became engineers and designed and created our own 2D moving robots using cardboard and MakeDo tools. We explored measuring and marking with rulers, joining materials and creating moving parts. We developed our problem-solving, creativity and adapting our ideas when things didn’t quite go to plan!
Textiles (Weaving): We explored the art of weaving using lollypop sticks and colourful wool. We learned how to weave over and under the sticks, experiment with colours and patterns, and carefully handle textile materials. We developed our fine motor skills, concentration and perseverance skills.
Food (Fruit Kebabs): We became little chefs and designed and made our own fruit kebabs! We learned about food hygiene and safety while developing our cutting and peeling skills. We planned our kebab designs before creating them and enjoyed making and talking about our delicious creations.
