Both Leswalt and Portpatrick Primary were offered the opportunity to have a free non-lander cruise aboard the Stena Line Ferry.ย It was a calm day for the crossing,ย with no sea sickness to report!
The senior pupils at Leswalt have been invited along to Kirkcolm bowling green to enjoy learning more about this sport.ย The gentlemen of the club have been very good with the children and they look forward to having another visit next week.
On Friday 19th June 2015 all of Leswalt Primary headed to the Royal Highland show, at Ingliston near Edinburgh.ย
They toured the show field in small groups and had a fun filled day full of new experiences and sights.ย

After being rained off on the first attempt, Leswalt Sports day took place on Thursday 18th June.ย Although the sun did not make an appearance, it was a fun filled afternoon.ย Every child tried their hardest and was very sporting throughout.ย The afternoon concluded with Leswalt Stores kindly donating ice cream for all the children

Primary p5-7 from Leswalt, joined up with pupils from their partnership school of Portpatrick, and pupils from Sheuchan to rehearse and perform “Warriors!”ย .ย This was made possibleย with support from Scottish Opera.ย
Children had been learning the songs in school all of this term, ย and they all came together to perform at Sheuchan Primary.ย The story was based in ancient China, with Leswalt and Portpatrick pupils taking on the role of peasants.ย It was a brilliant performance to parents and relatives, with expressive acting and wonderful singing from all.ย Have a look at the photographs to see the energy and enthusiasmย for yourselves.
In glorious sunshine the children of Leswalt Primary enjoyed a picnic lunch outside.ย They brought along some of their furry friends for a “teddy bears picnic” and enjoyed a fabulous selection of party food out doors.ย Have a look at the fun they had in the sun!
Today saw the final week of wider achievement activities taking place.ย The sun shone as the children fished, painted, sewed……and even made Christmas decorations!!
Many thanks to Mrs Cochran, Mrs Mc Intyre, Mrs Brown , Katie Wright and Stewart Mc Culloch who have helped support wider achievement groups for the last few weeks.
Primary 6 recently had their health and wellbeing learning and teaching enhanced by joining in the “Operation Safety” event which is organised by the emergency services, every year.ย Have a look at the photographs and see if you can guess what they were learning about.
Since the start of May our new entrants for August have been enjoying weekly visitsย to Leswalt Primary.ย We are looking forward to welcoming 5 new starts to Primary one next year, from 3 different Nurseries.ย During their weekly transition visits to Leswalt Primary they have all been getting to know each other, and the school, better.ย
