Wider Achievement Term 4

April

Sophie and Freya were 1st in a Lilac and Boston Dance and Waltz in Newcastle at the weekend.  They got a 3rd and 5th in the Cha Cha, Samba and Jive.  Well done girls.

Carmen competed in a competition in Carlisle for ADAC athletics club.  She came 4th in long jump, 4th in cricket ball and 7th in sprinting.  Courtney got 2nd in shot putt, 1st in 100m sprint and 1st in the long jump.  Excellent competing girls.

Ellie brought her trophies in from a successful regional badminton competition.  She will now represent the school at the National Championships in Perth on the 5th May.

Ellie, Kelsie, Sarah, Niamh and Jessica took part in the Schools Prose competition on Friday 20th April.  They all read an extract from ‘The diary of an almost cool girl’.  Sarah was 1st with 89 points, Kelsie 2nd with 88 points.  Ellie received 86 points, Jessica 85 points and Niamh 83 points.  Great achievement girls.

Gabi finished 2nd overall in the Super 3s P7 girls cross country competition.  Nate finished 4th overall for the P5 boys.

The Wylie family and their friends raised over £1600 for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of their auntie Clare. Known as the Hecklegirth Hill Hikers they climbed Burnswark, Skiddaw and Criffel in three days with many climbing all three!

 

June

8.6.18- Dylan and Jack from P7 were part of the winning Annan Athletic football team who beat Heston in the final. Dylan scored just minutes after coming on as a super sub!

8.6.18- Abbi (P5) won the Carlisle Crit Series for Under 10 girls on her bike last week. What an achievement!

 

10.6.218- Swimming success for our teams at local, regional and national success.

  • Guid Nychburris, Dumfries- Girls A- 1st place, Girls B- 4th place, Boys- 3rd place.
  • National Finals (Edinburgh)- Girls team took 17 seconds off their Freestyle Relay Finals time and 45 seconds off their Relay Finals time to come 14th out of 32 teams.

Danny from P5 has been successful in various tennis competitions in Dalston, Selkirk and Dumfries, winning first place at all events!

11.6.18- Josie from P3/4 completed the 5k Gelt Gladiator at Brampton this weekend.
